Re: Match Reports Now Available
With the Airation that has been done the pitch dries a lot better than it used to so as long as the rain isn't too constant over the next few says it should be right. It wouldn't want to rain too hard on Friday Saturday morning though.
So what I am trying to say is your guess is as good as mine!!

Game Chances: Moderate - High
Ground has a bit of surface water on it as of 530pm Tuesday. Main drainage is occuring, and water is coming off the pitch quickly.
Will need a break in the rain on friday and saturday though, and the amount of rain wednesday and thursday needs to slow down, but thats pretty obvious really.
Surface water has been soaking in and draining well, so as long as there is some sort of break, we'll be on like Donkey Kong.

Poli, we aerated twice before last season and the pitch still couldn't keep up, hopefully this year the sand helps dry it up a bit.
I drove past southside tonight and it was completely underwater.

Re: Match Reports Now Available
Arty, we have Director of Grounds and Waters the Honourable Piers Euler looking after the field this year. Along with the constant protection we are giving the field, as well as timely aeration, and the introduction of sand should see the field holding up better than last year.
Plenty of work has been done on it in the pre-season and i'm confident we haven't seen the pitch at its best this year either (as long as it holds up under the games this weekend).

I agree with u hawke, the rain has come a lot later this year, there was nothing in November and December this offseason compared to last year. Hopefully with the late rain, the field doesn't dry up as quick throughout the season.
Seemed good last night, held water well but nothing standing, sand has done a good job so far

Re: Match Reports Now Available
it feels ok underfoot, to expect it not to be soggy would be silly, either way i think its held up quite well, however as i type this i can hear some heavy drops on the roofs around me....
wow at SSE, i wouldn't have thought it was that low lying over there....
