KPR Player Of The Year

Hi All,

I'm thinking about putting in a new ranking system for the premier mens (and possibly metro's and womens) teams to work out the player of the year, and I'm looking for feedback from you.

It'll be under the "Teams" page on the website.

I'm thinking that you get points for certain things. How about the following:
2pts for starting the game
1pt for being on the bench
3pts for a goal
2pts for an assist
2pts for cleansheet (defenders and gk's only)
1pts for assist (strikers and midfielders only)
1pt for awesome goal celebration
1pt each for awesome team goal celebration
-1pt for Yellow Card
-2pts for Red Card
-2pts for OG

What do you guys think?

Good idea if you want to make it KPR Fanasty Player of the Year.

Might be a bit harsh on someone not winning player of the year because they scored an own goal from a deflection off their bum or won it because of their awesome celebration in the 92nd minute scoring a consolation goal in a 9 - 1 defeat.

I do think if a player gets sent off in the season they should be out of the running for the "best and fairest" though.

I liked your idea stripping it down to 3-2-1's from the coaches, but those guys are so subject to bribery and are so unethical that it would be remiss of me to leave it at that.

How about the coaches give their 3-2-1's, and the players also vote individually for man of the match, and the person with the most votes gets 3pts, then 2pts for 2nd place and 1pt for 3rd place?

Has a combined running total of coaches player and players player.

Getting sent off should exclude you though, I agree with that.

Votes after every game for man of the match should be enforced this year.
As should a mandatory beer after every game, no ducking out as soon as the match is over.
I agree with the best and fairest and not getting sent off. I heard that is why Julz left this season.

I'll leave you in charge of collecting the votes for whatever team you play in Branty.

I'm also in the process of obtaining a Grail for Man of the Match to drink out of, and a delightful pink shirt for dick of the day to wear.

Oh and i'm organising a 2m x 1m copy of the team song to go in the sheds as well, because its going to get sung ALOT this year
